The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SSCL) was named after the village Singareni in khammam district, Telangana where the coal mines are first noticed. The Headquarters of the department is located at Kothagudem, Khammam district, Telangana, India. The department was established on 1920 as a government-owned coal mining company in India. The department is currently operating 16 opencast and 32 underground mines in 4 districts of Telangana. The department has various units in all over state, so every year the department invites various notification for filling various posts.
